Description
Professor Nana Voitenko is a Ukrainian neuroscientist, Professor of biomedicine and neuroscience at Kyiv Academic University, Rector of the Dobrobut Academy Medical School. She studies nociception and molecular mechanisms of pain. Since 1999, her research has been supported by the European and American foundations INTAS, CRDF, JDRF and NIH. In 2019, Voitenko won the competition within the HORIZON 2020 program with the project NEUROTWIN – “Pan-European twinning to re-establish world-level Neuroscience Centre in Kiev”. She is a laureate of the State Prize in Science and Technology, member of the American Society for Neuroscience, founder and Vice President of the Ukrainian Society for Neuroscience, member of the Governing Council of the International Brain Research Organization.
Professor Pavel Belan is a Ukrainian biophysicist and neuroscientist, head of the Department of Biomedicine and Neuroscience of the Kyiv Academic University and the Department of Molecular Biophysics of the Bogomoletz Institute of Physiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv, Ukraine. Belan’s research interests focus on the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the modulation of synaptic transmission, neuronal excitability, and pain processing. He has extensive scientific cooperation with laboratories in the US, UK and Portugal, and his projects are supported by many international foundations, including INTAS, CRDF, Wellcome Trust and NIH. He is a laureate of the State Prize in Science and Technology, member of the American Society of Neurosciences and member of the Presidium of the Ukrainian Society of Neurosciences.
