SHE is SCIENCE – Ukraine

SHE is SCIENCE is an educational art project, organized by STEM is FEM with the  support of the international organizations’ UN Women in Ukraine and the United  Nations Children’s Fund in Ukraine (UNICEF).

With this project, we want to introduce you to Ukrainian female scientists of the XX  – XXI centuries. Science shapes the course of the modern world. And Ukrainian  women have made a significant contribution to its development. Moreover, the  stereotypes that “serious science” is not a woman’s business are long gone.

Meet these twelve amazing women and add one more item to the treasury of the  reasons to be proud of Ukraine! Perhaps their figures will inspire you just as they  have inspired five talented modern illustrators to create these portraits.

Each of the portraits is accompanied with an essay that won in the national competition SHE is SCIENCE. The essays were chosen among 561 texts written by girls aged 14 to 21 from all over Ukraine. All essays are presented in translation into Bulgarian.

The project is a part of the UN Women’s campaign “Generation of Equality” which  promotes gender parity among young people and provides women’s leadership in  technology and innovation.

STEM is FEM thanks colleagues from all over the world for supporting the educational art campaign “SHE is SCIENCE”. Together, we draw public attention to science “with a female face” and break stereotypes that working at STEM is a “male” business.

The general partner of the project is Roosh, a startup support company in  Ukraine, the project’s communication partner is the agency of strategic  communications TRUMAN.

STEM is FEM is a charitable educational project aimed to promote technical specialties among Ukrainian schoolgirls.

The exhibition is presented in partnership with the Ukrainian Embassy in Bulgaria.
